  • Hours: Full-time (40 hours per week)
  • Location: Exarchia, Athens

Communication is key for sustaining and broadening the impact of Inter Alia’s work. The media officer will be responsible for organising and developing Inter Alia’s presence in traditional and social media. The person will collaborate with the directors of Inter Alia’s three departments (IA Develop, IA Manage and IA Quality) with a view to communicate advances regarding the organisation’s strategies and optimise internal functioning. The media officer will be available to colleagues for co-developing and supporting the strategy and plan for communications of different projects and for increasing the visibility of actions. 

Role Tasks

  • Organise and realise the organisation’s external communication
  • Communicate with traditional media
  • Develop and increase the outreach of Digital Media (Social Media, Newsletter, Website)
  • Manage and Update the organisation’s Website
  • Organise, edit and send the Newsletter (monthly and special)
  • Co-create project communication strategies in cooperation with the project managers
  • Regulate the organisation’s internal communication, manage internal requests, complaints & needs
  • Manage external complaints and suggestions for improvement
  • Keep record and organise the yearly report of activities

Required Knowledge & Experience

  • Fluency in Greek and English (written and oral)
  • Experience in copywriting, preferably in the civil society sector
  • A degree in Media, Communication or other relevant fields combined with at least one year of professional experience or a Master’s degree in Media/Communication or a degree in social sciences, political sciences, humanities or management combined with two or more years of professional experience.

Required Skills and Competences

  • Social Media skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines, cooperation and group work skills
  • An active, positive and communicative character
  • Good understanding of the civil society sector

Desirable Skills and Competences

  • Skills in content management systems (WordPress)
  • Basic understanding of graphics editors or graphic design platforms
  • Basic knowledge of CSO and NGO function
