PDSFF ’21 : We have the winners!

Αυτή η σελίδα δεν είναι μεταφρασμένη προς το παρόν.

This year, Positively Different Short Film Festival was held online, has officially come to an end. #PDSFF21 was a tribute to film-makers who resist adverse circumstances and relentlessly insist on improving their craft. We thank them for trusting us with their work.

“The whole process [..] runs so beautifully that it makes me think (a) what will I do when the festival is over and (b) why did I not volunteer last year?”

Jenny, Volunteer

The jury committee, consisting of Maria Giovanna Vagenas, Konstantinos Aivaliotis, and Yiannis Kantea Papadopoulos, awarded ‘This is Right: Zak life and after’ by Gevi Dimitrakopoulou with the Best Greek Production & Best Film Award!

Honourable mentions went to: ‘My Other Son’ by Gustavo Alonso, “Aderfi” by Sam Albatros, and “The Daring Young Girl on the Flying Trapeze” by Nina Ross.

Congratulations to all the directors and their teams! Also, many thanks to our devoted volunteers and curators; without their insightful comments, this year’s festival would not have been the same.

Lastly, this year we had the chance to host two round-table discussions with some of our finalists. The first, “Filmmaking in Hard Times: British and Greek Directors Reflect on their Work Realities”, was held with the support of the British Embassy and facilitated by Niko Efstathiou and the second, “Collective Trauma, Activism & Documentary” was facilitated by our own Melina Kalfanti. Both discussions will be made available in Inter Alia’s official YouTube account.

We renew our date for Positively Different Short Film Festival 2022; see you at the cinemas!

Special thanks to Antivirus magazine and Shedia for supporting us.
Many thanks to the various media that shared our message with the audience during these challenging times for art festivals.
