International forum: Life beyond EU Funding

International forum Life beyond EU Funding

Inter Alia is glad to invite you to the yearly meeting of our pan-European network of organisations active in the field of youth*.
The meeting will take place in Athens between 7-9 December 2019.

— Please note that on Saturday and Sunday activities will take place in the Cube Athens (Aiolou 73, Athens). Monday’s activities will take place at Ianos Cafe, Stadiou 24, Athens)! —

This year’s meeting sets off from our growing concern for the ways youth organisations are perceived by EU institutions and how these perceptions are reflected in the Union’s budgetary arrangements.

In specific, it will deal with ways to reduce dependence of youth organisations on project-based funding and claim alternative, more sustainable ways to allocate resources.

Setting out from youngsters’ needs and participants’ experiences, the sessions will result in drafting joint actions and policy recommendations for forward-looking, sustainable allocation of EU resources in view of the new EU-budget ratification.

We invite all European organisations active in the field of youth who share our concerns and feel the need for reappraisal of the role of youth organisations and the empowerment of their social imprint to join!

* In 2018, Inter Alia established a network for coordinating activities throughout Europe, co-shaping a common agenda for youth and agreeing on targeted actions. It involves 60 organisations (https://civilsocietynetwork.weebly.com/organisations.html) from more than 20 countries and foresees meetings, workshops, publications, training activities, conferences and seminars designed through collective development of ideas, the application of new learning methods and the involvement of diverse institutions (schools, municipalities) and stakeholders (colleges, school teachers, students, parents).
