Outcast Europe Collection Day @ Piraeus Open School for Migrants

Outcast Europe, Inter Alia and Piraeus Open School for Migrants are co-hosting a collection day, dedicated to memory and oral history.

Do you own an item related to stories of migration? Is there, at your home, a tool, a utensil, jewellery, a piece of clothing, a document that you inherited and which connects you to your family’s past?

Are you interested to place it in a context that understands migration and displacement as a continuous journey of people from different places and eras?

Would you like your experiences to be heard, spread, recognised and appreciated?

Would you like to contribute to the creation of a collective narrative?

We invite you to share your story with us!

If you are interested in participating, you can fill in the participation form here:

We are waiting for you on Sunday 11 June, 14:00 – 18:00, at Piraeus Open School for Migrants, based at 14th Gymnasium of Piraeus, Ag. Anargiron & Ko, along with your items, to photograph them and hear their stories.

The material that will be gathered will be posted on Outcast Europe’s platform.

For further information, you can contact Hara Papadatou (papadatou@interaliaproject.com) or Nikos Papakostas (papakostas@interaliaproject.com).

Outcast Europe is a digital exhibition of personal items offered by residents of European countries. The objects carry personal stories of their owners and make up a collection that, crossing historical periods and country borders, echoes the experience of migration and displacement as a personal experience and as part of the collective consciousness of Europeans. Outcast Europe activities are self-financed by Inter Alia.
