Ανοιχτή συζήτηση & Προβολή
Για τους “πατριάρχες” των γλωσσικών αναφορών, τα media και τα δημόσια πρόσωπα, ο ανδρισμός και η αρρενωπότητα νοούνται έννοιες ταυτόσημες με συγκεκριμένες συμβολικές αναφορές· επιβολή, ισχύς, κυριαρχία. Οι αναφορές αυτές συγκροτούν συμπεριφορικά μοντέλα που καταπιέζουν όλα όσα δεν τις φέρουν και ταυτόχρονα αποξενώνουν τα άτομα που τις επιδιώκουν από τον εαυτό τους, συγκροτώντας μια κοινωνία καταπίεσης από τη μία και ματαίωσης από την άλλη.
Αξιοποιώντας συνδυαστικά τις εμπειρικές και επιστημονικές αναφορές των ομιλητριών/ών και την ομώνυμη ενότητα ταινιών μικρού μήκους, δημιουργούμε τον χώρο για να μιλήσουμε για άλλες αρρενωπότητες: αρρενωπότητες που αποκαθηλώνονται, απειλούνται, διαρρηγνύονται και επαν-επινοούνται, για να χωρέσουν την ευαισθησία, σε μία κοινωνία πολυσύνθετη και αντιφατική.

Round-table discussion & screening
For the “patriarchs” of language references, the media and public figures, the terms manhood and masculinity are used interchangeably, bearing specific symbolic references; imposition, power, domination. These references form models that oppress those who cannot or do not want to serve them, and, at the same time, alienate those who seek them from themselves, creating a society of oppression on the one hand and frustration on the other. Lately, a light of hope seems to be shinning with more space opening up to survivors of abusive behaviours as a result of a sinister masculinity, dominant and often violent.
Patriarchy is increasingly recognised as a structure that must be destroyed. With this goal in mind, we look for the tools – institutional, public, artistic – that will achieve this. Combining the empirical and scientific references of our speakers and the homonymous short film section, we create the space to talk about other masculinities: masculinities that are threatened, broken and re-invented, to fit into a complex and contradictory society.
