Call for participants
Inter Alia is searching for 5 participants from Greece for the forthcoming International Training Course: “Social (Media) Inclusion”, which will take place online, in the period 27/11/2020 – 08/01/2021.
The training course is part of the project Social (Media) Inclusion, which rotates around the concept and perception of good and bad use of social media and their impact in contemporary societies in relation to the perception of migrants and refugees in local communities, and the instrumentalisation of the so called “refugee crisis” by right-wing groups to destabilise democracy and social cohesion.

Learning outcomes
During the training course, participants will get more knowledge and skills on the following topics:
- Influence of social media on the perception of migrants in society, including its political and social role on a global scale.
- Digital identity and personal branding; rights and duties on the Internet; recognising fake profiles and protecting ourselves against fraudsters; recognising trolls, provocateurs and exhibitionists.
- Digital dangers; how to navigate online in order to avoid harming others, as well as to protect others and ourselves from deliberate online attacks; other forms of danger online: cyberbullying, cyberstalking, sexting, sextortion, grooming, phishing, etc.; fake news and disinformation as a form of cyber warfare; how migrants have been used by extremists to pursue their political, social and economic goals.
- Discrimination on social media, and ways of dealing with online hate speech or trolls.
- Positive and constructive uses of social media: how to use social media and cultural heritage in order to build up a better and more inclusive society.
Who can apply
This training course is for youth workers, practitioners, educators, trainers, cultural mediators, translators, community leaders, activists and anyone (ages 18+) interested in the topic and the content of the training course.

Fee: Participation in this training course is free of charge.
Working language: The training course will be held in English.
Requirements: Participants will have to attend all sessions.
Certificate of attendance: Participants will get a certificate upon the completion of the training course.
