Call for Performing Artists | Athens, 26 March – 3 April 2023

We are excited to announce the open call for artists for the final performance of ‘Youth Going Live’ program taking place in Athens (GR).

Youth Going Live embraces performing arts as a tool of learning, communication and of developing competences such as commitment, discipline, intellectual vigour, social awareness – all significant qualities in the path of a person’s personal, social and professional development.

Building on exchange, training, collective creation and community development, the performance plans to explore the combined potential of these competences as well as equally important qualities such as instinct, improvisation, freedom, spirituality – determinative of African performing arts.

We are looking for actors, dancers, choreographers, singers, street performers and performers from other disciplines currently based in Athens to join a multi-national team of performers from Senegal, Togo, Nigeria, Poland and Bulgaria who, under the guidance of a trained instructor, will create a performance piece from scratch.

The performance aims to explore the traditions of the communities involved through on the lived experiences of each participant. In this way, the performance will try to design a new future that we like based on our stories of the past.

The rehearsals and training sessions will take place during the above mentioned dates in Athens.
