We call you to join us at the Online Workshop on 30 January, from 5-7 pm CET (6-8 pm ATH time). Hosted by Inter Alia, and featuring the European Civic Forum, this event is your passport to understanding and mapping collective responses to authoritarianism in the EU.
During the online event we will discover the essence of civic freedom in the EU by actively engaging in the collective mapping of resistance and how voting can help us reclaim and expand the civic space.
Programme:
- Introduction (10 min): Unpack the concept of civic freedom with key facts and figures in the EU today, presented by the European Civic Forum. Gain insights into the vital role of civic engagement in shaping our societies.
- Brainstorming (15 min): Share your thoughts on democracy and explore the depths of civic space to build a collective understanding.
- Stories of Resistance (30/35 min): Embark on a journey of collective mapping! In breakout rooms, investigate and share local initiatives, movements, and actions resisting authoritarianism.
- Taking Back the Power (15 min): Explore the intersection of voting and reclaiming civic space with the European Civic Forum. Understand the power of vote as a civic action. Engage in a silent brainstorming session, listing your own pros and cons to voting.
