Diverse Acting

Summary

The “Diverse-Acting” project aims to promote paths of inclusion and active citizenship. It invites young people to take part in events that aim at exploring traditions, habits and cultural frameworks different from their own. Through the planned activities, we expect that youngsters will become more aware of their own view of the other, and in that process they will get themselves into the position to deconstruct stereotypes and overcome prejudices. The overall goal is to bring together young people, who normally don’t co-exist, neither know each other and for whom this distance creates phenomena of indifference, discrimination, and even leads to bullying episodes. By providing a safe space where they can meet we dare to foresee a different kind of micro-societies growing and evolving.

Target groups

Young people between 15 and 29 years old from different cultural, socio-economic and educational backgrounds.

Aims and Objectives

The ‘Diverse-Acting’ promotes active intercultural citizenship and political participation of young people by providing opportunities for dialogue, intercultural exchange and experimentation with youth initiatives.

Specific objectives

  1. Strengthening the intercultural and management skills of culturally diverse groups of youth workers and linguistic-cultural facilitators, offering the possibility of exchange practices and tools for the promotion of participatory processes among young people.
  2. Promoting and raising awareness among high school students (15 -19 years) on issues such as: racism and its various forms, discrimination and global inequalities, inclusive and civic participation.
  3. Reinforcing personal, intercultural and technical skills of young people aged 15 to 29, identifying talents and passions in order to increase personal and professional self-awareness, perception of the surrounding reality and personal and professional goals.
  4. Creating new spaces for youth participation in public life with the implementation of actions and events organised by young people, which make an impact on the territory and the community.
