In the pursuit for a life that is worth living, persons and communities in Ballarò and Exarchia have been battling institutional indifference (hostility) and the predatory logic of profit above all, for decades. In this long struggle, spaces where residents, locals and citizens can learn from each other and connect their experiences and dreams are essential to imagine and act.
This intimate festival, Exarchia – Ballarò: Stories Suspended (Exarchia – Ballarò: Storie Sospese), is such a space and such a moment!
Conceptualised and originally run in Athens, mainly the neighbourhood of Exarchia, by Inter Alia, we bring a set of events and processes to Palermo and Ballarò, a neighbourhood that can truly understand its premises – solidarity and the desire for continuity. Together with the Moltivolti team, we invite you to immerse into the issues of belonging and the struggles that open up to embrace more people and other “worlds.”
