From the cursed notebook to the dolphin lamp: the diamonds of this year’s Inter Alia Swap Bazaar

The 2nd Inter Alia swap bazaar brought new energy to Valtetsiou str. with many new faces and objects decorating our space, even if only temporarily. Everything hid a story behind it! Most of them remained unknown to us but luckily, we can share the background story of some of the items with you.
A weekly planner became the subject of a discussion about the working Middle Ages which some companies in Greece are still in. The person wanting to forget their experience in a job brought us the empty planner explaining, “I’m doing advertising for them now but I don’t want to have anything of theirs on me.”

One of this year’s iconic pieces was an 80’s black padded jacket that caused two girls to argue over who would get it. In the end we flipped a coin to make it fair.

Beyond the stories of the clothes and objects, the big hype this year was the “craft your own bookmark” workshop. Very few people passed by and didn’t try their hand at painting in the art corner we had set up in the back of the bazaar. It was at the round tables next to the paints and bookmarks that we were able to bring individuals together and foster community.

We ate chocolates, listened to music, sang and managed to bring together people who were different from each other but who all had something in common – a mood for coexistence and conversation!

We look forward to the next swap bazaar!
